Teenage girl arrives home to find note from parent (s) and empty house, girl takes bottle of booze from cabinet and pours a glass, she makes telephone call, pan up from record player to show party in house, people dancing / slow jive, hand with drugs in cu, smoking and drinking, girl is persuaded to try tablet, girl smokes and looks drugged, man sits close beside her. Animation shows the effects of taking barbiturates on the brain. Young woman smoking on a sofa, looking wasted. Young man sidles up to her on the sofa and gives her another drink.

They sneak up on teens in car and bust them, man handcuffed, searched and drugs found on another man, woman runs around looking for drugs, she slips something into her bra.

Cops question teens outside car, cop makes telephone call, ext run down building, older man takes teen girl into scruffy room the two smoke on his bed. Int apartment, older man lures the young girl into trying heroin - good CU of preparation of heroin and he appears to shoot up Cops drive up to red convertible and teen boy drops small package out of car, cop with gun drawn arrests teen boy and cuffs him. Old man cooks heroin and girl puts tourniquet on his arm while he shoots up she watches and smiles.

Cartoon of brain function after injecting. Good shots of the young woman completely stoned, eyes glazing over and rolling back. Woman in need of fix ( looks like prostitute ) arrives at man's apartment. She looks terrible, flashback to what she looked like before drugs.
