00:00:45 1936, King Edward Road, Hackney, London. Jewish family sat round dining table playing cards (dark). CU woman’s face as she is playing, MCU individual family members some getting excited as they throw down the cards, man gives piercing stare straight at camera. Woman writes with chalk on black board. Smartly dressed couples pose for the camera (very dark), old woman (grandma) smiles.
00:03:09 1942 M/Sgt William Blum visiting family in UK, Dunstable. Soldier returning home from the war. Soldier in uniform waves as old fashioned bus goes past and walks towards the camera. Nice shot of whole family waving hello to soldier – homecoming, greeting - mother and grandmother with toddler in doorway and other family members lined up at bay window. They walk to the gate and toddler runs up to hug him, soldier hugs and kisses the women and picks up the toddler in his arms. Toddler sat eating in garden. Man with pipe shows soldier letters/ photographs.

Father of the bride pours a port and raises a toast to the camera, then pours another one.
00:21:05 Bride getting ready for wedding at home in her bedroom, nice shot of her from behind as she looks in the mirror, she fixes the flowers on her head-piece/ veil then turns to smile at the camera. Mother of the bride in a blue chiffon dress and beehive hairdo comes up to bride and kisses her on each cheek and fixes her veil, motherly love. Father of bride waits expectantly, at bottom of the stairs as bride comes down, he smiles with pride, good father! He kisses his daughter and they walk hand in hand to living room.

Bridesmaid comes into shot and takes a sniff of bouquet. More relatives (male and female) dressed in best clothes, come in to raise a toast to the bride and congratulate her.

00:27:27 EXT London Synagogue, tilt up front of building. Wedding guests arrive in fur coats and get out of fancy cars. Wedding car with groom arrives. People in smart outfits past camera, nice late 60s fashions. Bride pulls up in great big white car, waves at the camera. Bride coming into synagogue, she is followed by 3 bridesmaids in sky blue chiffon dresses. Procession down the isle (dark). EXT bride, groom and guest line up outside church for wedding photos. Bride and groom into big white wedding car.
00:35:01 Wedding reception. Pan along extravagant buffet (with lots of things on cocktail sticks!). Guests line up to greet the married couple and their parents. Tilt down dinner menu includes 60s favourites such as melon frappe and chopped liver. Guests clap as bride and groom take their seats. Camera pans in MCU round tables as guests eat, interesting late 1960s characters, nice fashion and hairdos!
00:45:22 Toasts/ wedding speeches, guests stand up and raise a glass to the happy couple. Men and women sat round after dinner smoking and chatting (some shots could be sophisticated/ glamorous 1960s nightlife/ restaurant). At the children’s table, kids look awkwardly at the camera. Bride and groom presented with ceremonial drinks in silver goblets.
00:58:11 The first dance, bride and groom waltz whilst guests look on the in-laws start to dance too. Then the guests join in, all very civilized ballroom dancing. Wedding party, nice shots. Move from ballroom dancing to the twist, some good dancing and some bad/ funny dancing, brilliant examples of dad dancing!

More dancing, everyone links arms (traditional Jewish dance), people watch man doing Cossack dancing, funny clips of people doing the conga. Cabaret show showgirls in skimpy blue costumes and feather headdresses to dance routine with lots of posing and high kicks. Showgirls pick men from audience to get up and dance with them, they do the can-can in a line. Girl in flapper outfit does great Charleston-type dance. Audience clap. Man sings, women shimmy in sequin dresses with fur boas and then strip down to their lacy underwear (striptease). Wedding guest attempts to dress a nude mannequin (odd). Girls in minidresses do a 60s dance routine. Glamorous singer serenades man and then they dance together. Very flexible woman does dance routine.
01:12:36 Bride and groom walk off hand in hand into hotel suite, shot of 2 pairs of shoes being placed outside the door.
01:14:00 1948 new baby girl, newborn. Whimsical musical soundtrack. Hospital - nurse carries baby to mother. CU newborn baby wrapped in blanket, baby yawns. Grandma comes in to visit with a bunch of flowers, she picks up baby. Motherly love. Mother reads letters in bed. Row of cots. Various nurses hold the baby, happy. EXT sign says ‘St David’s Wing for private patients’ nurse and mother leave. Mother feeding baby with bottle. Mother changes baby’s nappy. Baby laid down in pram for a nap. COLOUR – EXT grandma carries baby in garden. Nice GV late 1940s English suburban street with boy on bicycle riding towards the camera (idyllic). Man sawing wood in his garden.
